Are you passionate about medicine, healthcare, or exploring the wonders of the human body? Then join us for the first meeting of the Medical Science Club on Tuesday, September 24th in room 124! Whether you're aspiring to be a doctor, nurse, researcher, or just love learning about the medical field, this club is for you! See Mr. Nova if you have any questions.

Math club will have the first meeting next Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 3:15 in room 226. This month we will be looking at logic puzzles and discussing plans for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Butcher or Ms. Horton.

The final Spirit Day dress down theme for tomorrow is BLACKOUT! Students are encouraged to dress head to toe in all black to prepare for the big game!

Today during 2nd hour, students should have received a black necklace for the Roshambo game. The Roshambo rules are as follows:

  • Students can challenge each other to win their necklace by playing a game of rock-paper-scissors.
  • Students can only challenge other students in the HALLWAY or at LUNCH (classrooms are off limits!)
  • Once a student loses their necklace, they are out of the competition.
  • If you have 5 black necklaces, you can challenge a staff member for their gold necklace. If you lose, you have to give all of your beads to the staff member.
  • The student with the most necklaces on Friday at the Pep Rally will get a prize!

Here is the Thursday special announcement from the Mental Health Team: Checking in on your friends is an important and effective way to show that you care. Checking in on your friends can be as simple as asking how their day has been. You can check in on friends when something feels off. If a friend is acting withdrawn, asking them if they are okay will show that you are there for them. Try to be nonjudgmental as you listen with your full attention, offer to be supportive in any way that you can and remind them that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. If you are looking ahead, our next Mental Health Club Meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 3 - 3:30.

Sports Announcements for Thursday, Sept 19, 2024

Good luck to the Boys Varsity Soccer team who plays at Franklin Jewish Academy at 4:30pm.
