International Students

Bishop Foley Catholic is pleased to offer admission to international students, and encourages you to share the experiences of secondary education and life in America. Bishop Foley values the rich diversity of cultural experience that international students bring to our institution.

We accept students for an F-1 student visa in the fall semester only. In order to be considered for international acceptance, a student must:

»  Be entering 9th, 10th or 11th grade
»  Complete an online application by June 1, including translated transcripts, discipline records, a teacher recommendation and English proficiency test scores
»  Complete an interview with the BFC Admissions Committee demonstrating English proficiency
 
All international student applicants must complete either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Duolingo English Test (DET). If the applicant takes the TOEFL, they must earn a score of 60 or higher to be eligible for admission, while applicants who opt to take the DET must earn a score of 90 or higher.

Program Updates 
2023-2024

Bishop Foley Catholic will accept new F-1 international students for the upcoming 2023–2024 academic year. Please be advised that all incoming F-1 international students will only be admitted for full-time in-person instruction and are bound by existing federal regulations. International students cannot enter the U.S. under F-1 status to attend school online.
 
In the event of new AOD, state or nationwide regulations regarding COVID-19 protocols, international students may not be able to meet F-1 regulatory requirements for admission to the United States. If so, those students will have the option to defer their program’s start date to reflect the resumption of full-time in-person class attendance; this will also apply to students who are unable to travel to the U.S. due to travel bans or inability to obtain visas in a timely manner.

I-20 Form

Upon receipt of the tuition and fee payment, Bishop Foley Catholic will issue an I-20 form. The I-20 form is necessary for obtaining an F-1 student visa or for legal transfer from another institution in the United States. If, a student is unable to attend during the planned term, the I-20 must be returned with notification that the student will not be attending Bishop Foley.

Students must present their passport, I-20 form, entry permit (I-94 card), health appraisal form and English-translated proof of insurance to Bishop Foley Catholic’s Registrar upon arrival at to be eligible for enrollment.

Refund Policy

Tuition will be refunded if the student is not accepted for enrollment, not approved for visa or withdraws their application within 30 days prior to the first day of school. The $250 application and registration fee is non-refundable upon the issuance of the I-20 form. The student or parent/guardian is responsible for mailing back the original I-20 before the tuition refund is made.
