We are thrilled to spotlight the incredible journey of Gregory Zub, a proud Bishop Foley Catholic graduate from the Class of 1992! Greg has built a successful career in wealth management, and he credits his time at Foley for shaping his path to success.
Prepping for the Real World
Greg firmly believes that his Bishop Foley Catholic education laid the foundation for his achievements. He says Foley “helped not only prepare me for the future ahead, but also served as an incredible foundation, based on core Catholic principles, to help navigate the volatile and challenging world.”
At Foley, Greg experienced an environment of academic excellence, faith, and personal growth. He made the most of every opportunity—whether it was connecting with inspiring teachers, mentors, and coaches, joining clubs, or building lifelong friendships. Those four years weren’t just about high school; they were the launchpad for his future!
The Pit in the ‘90s: Where the Magic Happened
Ask Greg about his favorite Foley memories, and he'll talk about athletics—but what really stood out? The legendary dances in “The Pit!” Located in front of the stage at the bottom of the cafeteria, The Pit was the place to be on a Friday night. With music blasting, friends laughing, and students busting a move to Depeche Mode, these dances were a true embodiment of Foley’s vibrant community spirit.
Ahead of the Game
Greg didn’t just graduate from Foley—he excelled in college because of it! His freshman year was a breeze thanks to the rigorous classes he took as a junior and senior at Foley. Beyond academics, Greg learned the importance of service through Sophout and other philanthropic experiences, which shaped his lifelong commitment to giving back. “The responsibility we have as Catholics to serve our community was ingrained in me at Foley,” he says. “That lesson has stayed with me throughout my adult life.”
Greg is living proof of the lasting impact of a Foley education—strong values, a commitment to service, and a drive to succeed!
Be “That” One Person
Greg has some heartfelt advice for current students: Stay connected. “Maintain the relationships you’ve built at Foley into college and beyond,” he says. “Pick up the phone. Call your loved ones or a friend. Social media is great, but you never know when someone might need a pep talk, career advice, or just a listening ear. And one day, you might be the one in need.”
Foley Friendships Last a Lifetime
Greg and his Foley crew have stuck together over the years, meeting for dinners and catching up at concerts, Detroit City FC games, and more. He encourages fellow alumni to stay involved, reconnect, and join in on Foley’s alumni events and reunions!
