This class is designed for freshmen entering Bishop Foley Catholic next fall. Students will receive a Chromebook and review digital texts, syllabi, sample quizzes, tests, study techniques and time management. Students are required to begin their summer reading assignment and organize their notebooks for their classes. Teachers of this class maintain contact with students during their first semester at Foley.

All the world’s a stage — come learn all about performing from the BFC Drama Department! This program is open to everyone interested in drama. No experience necessary. The students will learn basic stage directions, acting techniques, breathing exercises, stage combat and put on a short skit with fellow actors. It’s a great way to meet others interested in drama and become more comfortable in public speaking situations.

This hands-on, immersive class is designed for young writers. We will explore through practical exercises and discussion, with a focus on plot, theme, character development and story arc. Additionally, the application of proper use of sentence structure, grammar, punctuation and word choice will be reinforced. By the end of the week, each student will have produced a short story which will be compiled with produced works by other attendees and distributed to each author.

Led by Head Coach John Maltese, campers will receive expert instruction in fundamentals such as passing, catching, tackling and strategy, all in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your game to the next level, our camp offers personalized coaching tailored to each player’s abilities. Don’t miss this opportunity to sharpen your skills, make new friends and experience the excitement of football at BFC!

Note: All campers should bring cleats, athletic shoes (in case of rain), athletic shorts and a bottle of water.

The Bishop Foley Catholic Volleyball Camp is designed to introduce skills and develop the skill level of each athlete while building confidence in the players’ abilities. We focus on all aspects of volleyball so that each athlete can have a good base of all skills involved. The camp is led by college coach and BFC alumna Colleen Szakacs with the help of current BFC varsity athletes and coaches.

Note: If you believe that your child is more advanced and might be able to attend the Elite Camp, please contact Coach Szakacs at szakacs@bishopfoley.org before registering. Please make sure athletes wear proper volleyball attire, such as shorts or spandex, a T-shirt, knee pads and proper athletic footwear. Please also make sure to bring a water bottle.

Swim & Dive Camp

The Bishop Foley United Girls Swim & Dive Camp will teach the basics and love for swim and drive through instructions from our coaches and high school volunteers. No swim experience is required and all attendees will be divided into 6 groups based on skill level, from basic through advanced. We will focus on the development of all four strokes — Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly.

Divers will work with our diver volunteers and coaches to develop basic skills of diving. Each of our days will be focused on teamwork and the development of all four strokes with our days ending with a game or a fun swim-related activity.

Please be aware each athlete will need a one-piece swimsuit and swim goggles, and everyone is encouraged to bring their own water bottle. This camp will be held at Troy Athens High School.

Boys Basketball Camp

The BFC Boys Basketball staff and players will host a three-day youth camp for grades 4–9. Led by boys basketball coach and former college player Mike Oravetz, campers will have exposure to a variety of drills and competition that will emphasize all aspects of basketball. Campers will be split up by age and skill level. Group stations will be utilized to focus on skill development and fundamentals where campers can compete against themselves and one another. Each day will end with scrimmaging, where the campers can put the skills they learned to the test! All campers will be provided a T-shirt at the conclusion of the camp.

Note: Please make sure campers have proper attire (shirt, shorts, gym shoes) and bring water bottles.

The Bishop Foley Catholic Lacrosse Camp is designed to improve skill level, enhance player development and build confidence in players’ abilities. With a focus on all aspects of lacrosse, training groups are established based on camper’s age/grade level. The Intro Camp, LAX 101, is great for players who are thinking about playing lacrosse next year and want a good foundation of fundamentals. Camp will be led by BFC Coach John DeLong, who is entering his third year at BFC, as well as some of Bishop Foley’s most talented lacrosse alumni.

The BFC Lacrosse Camp is designed to improve skill level, enhance player development and build confidence in players’ abilities. With a focus on all aspects of lacrosse, training groups are established based on camper’s age/grade level. The Elite Camp is intended for players with some experience playing lacrosse and teaches advanced stick skills and lacrosse concepts for those that want to take their game to the next level. Camp will be led by Coach John DeLong, who is entering his third year at BFC, as well as some of Foley’s most talented lacrosse alumni.

BFC’s Soccer Camp offers a unique opportunity for young athletes to enhance their soccer skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Led by Coach Julia Surratt, this co-ed camp will give participants the opportunity to engage in a variety of drills and exercises designed to improve their technical abilities, tactical understanding and overall fitness.
 
Coach Surratt brings her wealth of knowledge and passion for the game to each session, ensuring that every player receives personalized attention and guidance to reach their full potential. In addition to skill development, the camp emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere where players can grow both on and off the field. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, this camp is perfect for anyone looking to elevate their game and have fun doing it!

Note: Please make sure students have the proper attire — shorts, T-shirt and cleats — and have a water bottle on hand to keep hydrated.

Join the Bishop Foley Catholic Cheer Team to learn jumps, tumbling, cheers, stunting and more! This is a great camp for cheerleaders of all levels who want to work on their fundamentals and to cheer during the first half of at Bishop Foley home football game. The camp will be led by Varsity Cheer Coach Angela Panetta, who has over 15 years of cheer and gymnastics coaching experience.

Note: This camp is split between two days — Monday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 27. The first session on the 25th will take place from 7:00–8:30 PM, while the second session on the 27th will take place from 5:00–6:30 PM. Attendees will be invited back to cheer during the BFC home football game on Friday, September 26 at 7:00 PM.
