We’re thrilled to spotlight a cherished member of the Bishop Foley family for November: our Director of Admissions and Enrollment, Trevor Tyle, Class of 2016!

November Alumni Spotlight: Trevor Tyle

Trevor’s journey from Foley student to passionate professional began with the encouragement and support of two beloved Foley teachers, Marylee Petty and Shonna Proctor. Both had a profound influence on his path forward. “Shonna reached out to let me know there were openings at Foley and encouraged me to apply — the rest is history!” Since then, Trevor has become an incredible asset to our advancement team and a warm, guiding presence for future Foley students.

We’re beyond grateful to have one of our own alumni return to their roots and strengthen the Bishop Foley mission in such a meaningful way. Trevor shared, “For nearly five years, I’ve served as the Director of Admissions and Enrollment for BFC and not only found my true calling, but have also been able to build a career that allows me to give back to the community that made me what I am.”

Inspired Leadership Thanks to Foley Teachers

Trevor’s leadership journey took off during his freshman year, becoming the first freshman Editor-in-Chief of Foley’s school newspaper under the mentorship of Marylee Petty. “Her support and willingness to take a chance on me, coupled with the hands-on experiences I had in her class during my four years at Foley, not only introduced me to journalism but also gave me confidence to pursue it as a career.”

With the gentle guidance of Foley’s dedicated teachers, Trevor found the confidence to grow and excel. His teachers held him to high standards, and today, he’s an incredible example of what Foley students can achieve. From his high school newspaper days to becoming Editor-in-Chief of The Oakland Post and now serving as the face of Foley Admissions, Trevor’s journey continues to flourish!

Words of Wisdom for Current BFC Students

A dedicated Star Wars fan, Trevor shares a favorite Princess Leia quote: “Stay afraid, but do it anyway!” He encourages current students to “never let fear stop you from finding your passion or pursuing your dreams. Foley gives you the means to forge your own future, so embrace every opportunity you’re given, no matter how daunting it may seem, and the rest will fall into place.”

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Trevor! Your story inspires our Ventures every day. To connect with Trevor about his incredible journey, feel free to reach out at admissions@bishopfoley.org, or catch him at one of our Foley events and say hello!
